Nine Inch Nails
Pulling the harsh sounds of industrial rock into the mainstream, Trent Reznor and his band Nine Inch Nails became the face of industrial music in the '90s with "Head Like a Hole," "Closer," and "Hurt" becoming hits worldwide and their albums "The Downward Spiral" and "The Fragile" topping the charts.
The band have maintained their chart success - including their biggest UK hit single "The Hand That Feeds" reaching no.7 in 2005 - even as their metal style shifted to incorporate atmospheric electronic elements influenced by Reznor's Oscar-winning film scores for The Social Network, and Soul, and his Grammy-winning score for The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. He has also scored many of David Fincher's other films, including Gone Girl and Mank.
