Apollo Victoria Theatre is home to Wicked, currently the 10th longest running production in West End History. With a seating capacity of 2328, Wicked has beguiled over 12 million visitors since its 2006 London premiere with the original Broadway Elphaba, Idina Menzel.
Apollo Victoria first opened its doors in 1930 as a cinema and its unique art deco interiors have remained to this day. The venue showed its last films in 1975 and became a rock concert venue until 1980, boasting stars such as Led Zeppelin, Cliff Richard, ELO, and Peter Gabriel. In 1981 the Apollo Victora began its reign as a theatre with a Shirley Bassey concert. Starlight Express ran at Apollo Victoria from 1984 – 2002! Another premier took place in 2002 with ALW Bombay Dreams.
