WHAT'S ON AT THE CAMBRIDGE THEATRE, LONDON
The Cambridge Theatre is part of LW Theatre and has a seating capacity of 1200. It opened in 1930 and has an impressive history of productions including Billy Liar, George Bernard Shaw’s Heartbreak House, Hamlet (starring Sir Ian McKellen). Other legendary performers include Audrey Hepburn, Peter O’ Toole, and Dudley Moore.
With shows ranging from revues, to musicals such as Half A Sixpence starring Tommy Steele, operettas such as A Night In Venice, to phenomenal illusion and mentalist Derren Brown, The Cambridge Theatre is currently home to the award winning Matilda.
The Cambridge was bought by Andrew Lloyd Webber in 2000, where he premiered his new musical The Beautiful Game in the same year. This young theatre loves to mix things up and attract new audiences and has successfully done so with its varied programme of plays, musicals, comedies and such like.
