What's On at the Duchess Theatre, London

The Duchess Theatre, which first opened its doors in 1929, is home to the multi award-winning The Play That Goes Wrong. This Grade II listed building holds just under 500 seats, the stalls of which are built below street level! Duchess Theatre is one of the smallest theatres in the West End to have a proscenium arch, which boasts original features from when the theatre was first built.

The Duchess Theatre holds the record for hosting the shortest run in West End history, when in 1930 the show closed without even completing its first performance! In 2005, Duchess Theatre became part of Nimax Theatres, a year that saw the likes of David Suchet, Eileen Atkins, and Maureen Lipman tread its boards.

Duchess Theatre has been home to many award-winning musicals plays, comedies and dramas including the stage version of Alfie, Oh! Calcutta! The nearest carparks to The Duchess Theatre are NCP Upper St Martin's Lane and Masterpark Trafalgar Square.

Latecomers will only be admitted at a suitable break in the performance.  Dependant upon the performance in question, this may not be guaranteed.
