What's On at the Trafalgar Theatre, London

Trafalgar Theatre, originally known as Whitehall Theatre, first opened its doors in 1930. This Grade II listed theatre underwent a multi-million pound refurbishment, bringing it back to its original décor and converting its two studio spaces into one 630 seated auditorium. Trafalgar Theatre is home to the UK premiere of Clueless The Musical.

Trafalgar Theatre was arguably the first West End Theatre to show Burlesque Revues, such as Whitehall Follies and Peek-A-Boo. Its rich history has been synonymous with farce, known as the Whitehall Farces, which were even televised. This Rix era, named after writer Brian Rix, lasted 16 years, with actors including Terry Scott and Andrew Sachs.

After the war, the venue became The Whitehall Theatre Of War for a short while, where a spitfire even hung from the ceiling. The 1990’s saw the theatre turned into a television and radio studio. 2016 saw the birth of Trafalgar Entertainment, with The Trafalgar Theatre as their flagship venue.
