Merging six vocalist-instrumentalists from an array of musical backgrounds, Bristol-based Tryani Collective perform original compositions featuring multi-part vocal arrangements interwoven with explosive percussion, synths & drums. Their hypnotic polyphony draws on influences from Henry Purcell, Cocanha and San Salvador, using original lyrics as repetitive musical motifs. Words are broken down and distorted, and voices are used as instruments to explore the expressive potential of the human voice. Notable gigs for the band have so far included Shambala Festival, Starry Skies and Fire in The Mountain!?
