Love of music has been with me since the womb. My musical journey began with Rock and Pop, evolving in the 70s into a deep love for Funk and Soul. I became a dancer in the 80s, and through the tutelage of club life, I first began DJing in the mid-80s, starting with house parties, then moving on to bars and clubs. Years later, I transitioned into promoting and started a club night in the late 90s called The Time Tunnel at Mellows Wine Bar in Aldgate. From there, I moved to The End and AKA Bar in the heart of the West End. In 2001, I launched a new club night called Poetic Soul in Farringdon at a venue called Lift. This club spanned three floors, each room offering a different musical theme with accompanying names like Poetic Funk and Poetic House. I stayed there for over seven years, but after the club?s closure, I returned to DJing at private member bars such as Kingly Club, Pangea, BrickHouse, and Soho House. I also played at parties for actors and footballers, weddings, corporate events, and more. My DJ career expanded internationally, taking me to locations like Beirut in Lebanon, Brazil, Morocco, Perpignan in France, and more. I had the privilege of playing at the PVBR Festival in Iceland. In 2012, I reintroduced Poetic Funk and Poetic Jazz, nights dedicated to unapologetic Funk, Boogie, 80s Soul, Jazz Funk, and Jazz Fusion?sounds that evoke the soundtrack of our youth. These events have included performances at the Brixton Disco Festival, various weekenders, and live band promotions at The Fox & Firkin. I regularly play at Hidden Beach Festivals and host monthly Poetic Funkresidencies, bar garden alldayers, and two-room bank holiday extravaganzas at Tons of Brix. Every year, I play at the We Out Here Festival, headlining the official afterparty for the Across the Tracks Festival, and performing annually at the Mi-Soul Margate Festival. I also had the honor of playing at Somerset House for the Missing Thread exhibition in The Strand, WC1, and holding a residency at the BBE Record Store.
