Yes his birth name is Manta it’s not just a ‘stage name’. Born in Japan but raised in Skipton North Yorkshire, the shaved, dyed hair 21 year old Manta is writing and producing his own distinct style of bedroom pop. Manta began his musical career when he started studying architecture at university but soon realised he had no passion for drawing sun paths and beams to support buildings. So he decided to take the big leap and drop out to peruse music… (much to the dismay of his parents) Although he has absolutely no understanding of music theory he creates catchy melodies with stacked vocals blended with guitars and synths. When he isn’t producing music you’ll catch him enjoying his other passions in life: watching Manchester City with a cask ale.
