New York rapper Tione Jayden Merritt (aka Lil Tjay) shot to fame in 2019 when he was featured on Polo G’s top 10 single Pop Out.
This led to other collaborations alongside French Montana and Blueface in Slide and Pop Smoke in Mood Swings, which climbed to No.5 on the UK singles chart.
His debut album True 2 Myself also arrived in 2019 and peaked at No. 5 on the Billboard 200 chart, pushing the boundaries of vulnerability, storytelling, and skill in the realm of hip-hop, paving the way for Platinum-selling hits in the UK with "F.N", and "Calling My Phone" (with 6lack), which reached the no.2 spot on the Official Singles charts, while "In My Head" also graced the Top 20.
